Follow the Zombie Friday

Welcome to Follow the Zombie Friday! If you are a guest, glad to meet you! If you are a returning zombie horde member, we salute you. Make sure you mark your calendar for the 10 Days of Halloween event coming up next month!

Q. What book that hasn't been turned into a movie (yet) would you most like to see make it to the big screen, and who would you like cast as your favorite character?

AA. Well...that's a tough one. I think I would love to see:

I know, the cover is kind of freaky, but this is one of the best and most dynamic zombie books I have read lately. I won't even try to guess the actors...I would leave that bit up to the director, but this would be an awesome movie. Just seeing her learn to be a zombie and all the angst with figuring out she has to eat brains to survive would be completely amazing. A coming of age story that will leave you grinning from ear to ear.

“In honor of Banned Books Week, what is your favorite “banned or frequently challenged book”?”

When Matt and Parker learn the body they found in Indian Creek is a drug-related death, they fear Parker's mother may be involved.

The Dead Man in Indian Creek
Clarion Books; Sandpiper
Challenged at the Salem-Keizer School District,
Oreg. elementary schools (2010) because of the
drugs and drug smuggling activities in the book.
The book was previously challenged in 1994 in the
same school district because of graphic violence,
examples of inappropriate parenting, and because
it was too frightening for elementary students.
The book has won awards from the International
Reading Association, the Children’s Book Council,
and the American Library Association.
